I started this a couple months ago but didn't have time to work on it and in the meantime I've changed my mind about what I want to do with this, so I thought I'd post it as it is now before Jack gets different clothes and Rapunzel starts looking younger.
*sigh* anyway... this is my contribution to the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. I don't ship them as anything more than a brother/sister kind of thing (for various reasons that I'm too tired to talk about) And, like I said, I'm already working on altering this (I've got this short comic-y thing. who knows if it will ever get done because of homework ) It'll be really cute though...?
I love them so much
Personally though, I think I tend to prefer platonic ships both in-universe and in crossovers, especially if a character has a canon relationship with another character. For Instance, at the end of tangled they say that Eugene and Rapunzel get married (we even get to see the wedding in Tangled Ever After). Whereas, at the end of the first Httyd, Hiccup and Astrid kiss, but it's not implied they get married, they're both only 14 or so, and she was much too prone to hit him (which made me disinclined to view their relationship in a positive way).
However, when Httyd 2 came out, Astrid and Hiccup are still in a relationship, at an older age, and she hits him far less (if at all) plus there is a mention about her being Stoick's future daughter-in-law. If you haven't noticed... I haven't posted any Mericcup art since the 2nd movie came out.
This is kind of a long answer, but basically it comes down to: If one of the characters are in a stable healthy relationship where it's either implied or outright shown or stated that they are or are going to be married, and there isn't a previous canon implying otherwise (such as is the case for some comic book movies) I won't ship them with someone else. idk I guess I just don't like to go against canon
I hope this makes sense.
Rant over. I get your point. Thanks for telling me.
And as far as Jack and Tooth goes, if anything I'd ship them together since they've both been a bit flirty with each other. But even then I think I'd prefer them to remain more as friends with slight crushes? Rather than them ever being in a full on relationship.... even if rainbow snowcone is super cute.
I really wish they'd do a sequel or tv show. ^^
But I agree with you; Jack and Elsa could have a cute relationship but only with barriers, like, platonic. I could actually see it work out with them - a little bit - if it wasn't becuase of Elsa being so mature and regal as she is, and Jack being all fun-loving, cheerful and carefree all the time. He loves his freedom and while he could definitely bring the mood up for Elsa and make her believe she isn't such a monster as she think she is, I mean, they could have a short, cute, real relationship, but honestly, I would see it as Jack wanting it and not so much Elsa. As with Rainbow Snowcone - which I whole hearted agree with you is super cute - I think Jack and Elsa would be great friends with a one-sided love going on. Besides, I only agree with this couple within Modern AU where both of them are humans.
Me too. I'm still hoping for it, as William Joyce is going to release his newest book regarding his GoC (Guardians of Childhood) series here to fall; Jack Frost aka, Nightlight.
Oh yeah, the idea of the mortal dying (whichever character it is) and Jack staying alive forever being all sad because the one he loved died is just too much for me. I don't want to think of him being forever alone in that sense. ha though I know some people just love angst.
Augh I can't wait till the book comes out, it seems like we've been waiting forever. XD
Sorry, rant over. Hopefully.
I have preordered it over iBooks. Lol, heh, I should, however, read the four other books first though. I'm only half-way through the first book with North.
Also, I meant to say that while I like Rainbow Snowcone, I only support if they are both humans. Being both Guardians, then I think Tooth is too mature - I mean, she is literally a mother to all those Mini Fairies - and she also acts older, at times. Now, it's easy - very easy - to picture Tooth as a teenager if she was human, because of her bubbly personality and because she would then have just as much experience as Jack has, which isn't much. But Guardian wise, no, then I don't support FrostFairy, only human wise.
And with Jelsa, I could say the same, in a way. I do not support Jack with anyone before he becomes a Guardian, except if said person is Hiccup or Rapunzel, maybe Merida too, because they actually have the belief and mentality to see Jack Frost. Hiccup because he lives in Viking era and they believed in anything, plus, Jack Frost has his origins in Norse mythology where Jack Frost was known as Jokul Frosti; and Rapunzel is able to see him because she is too naive to not believe in Jack. Merida do have potential to see him when she's just a child, since she whole heartily believes in magic, but specifically Jack Frost, I don't know. Anna also should be able to spot Jack Frost because she's always been naive like Rapunzel - though not to the same degree - so there is a chance for her to see him, too. Now, Elsa, on the other hand, is too regal, too mature, too scared to believe in miracles and myths. She only believes what she can see and lost all other kinds of belief the moment she nearly killed her sister. Hence why I do not agree with pairing Jack Frost with Queen Elsa; I only think they could be together in AU, like Hunger Games, Hogwarts or Modern AU, but even there I'm very skeptical and only see them having a platonic relationship, or a brother/sister kind of friendship, if not actually being brothers and sisters.
Ooookay, I should shut up now.
Oh, I'm kind of the opposite - the more you need to change canon the less likely I am to ship it, but I do agree Tooth does seem a bit too mature for an actual romantic relationship with Jack. And really they'd both be so busy doing Guardian work.
But while I don't ship Jelsa, I actually think she would be able to see him? Even as an adult. Like, she has magic powers, she's seen trolls, it wouldn't be too far of a leap to also include Jack Frost as a possible being she'd believe in, especially since people in Denmark/Norway and those areas that Arendelle is supposed to be based on are far more likely to know who Jack Frost/Father Frost etc. is (at least more likely than people from America). And since, I'd imagine, Elsa probably read a lot as a child, I could see her coming across a book that mentions some sort of version of Jack Frost, and latching on to that for comfort? ...idk oh, but I just realized you're from Denmark aren't you? You'd probably know a little more about it than I would
I also love the fact that you used the concept art of Rapunzel's dress!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey you guys! Disney and Dreamworks will work together to make a movie of Rise of The Brave Tangled Dragons. if you help us sign a Petition that would be great. We need 1000 signatures. If you want to sign to make this movie happen then search thisetition for The Big Four/Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons
Yeah, I don't mind Jack and Rupunzel as a couple, but I prefer them in a Brother/Sister relationship.
I was feeling a lot worse about it when I originally posted it than I do currently
